How to keep computer safer

Even through some viruses and hacker can infect your computer and steel your identety even without your help, using vulnarable system components, software like players and applets, most of them relays on your interaction and trying to trick you to click something without knowing what that really is or what program it comes from, so it's important to know what exactely each alert means and what application is it comming from. In this article I'll touch many of these situations, so reed in.

Get used to system alerts

Each version of windows has sertain set of alerts. In a week of working with computer you will get in contact with most of the system allerts, read cerefuly each of them becuse if you get an alert you never seen before is a reason for consern. For example: if antivirus says your computer is under attack and you have many viruses(in case of AV Security Suit), but you haven't seen this antivurus before and never installed it into your system, chanses are 99 to 1 it's not an antivirus, it's a virus itself! Close the window or even restart computer, if that didn't help, seek professional help.

If you get a message about some component is requaried to watch a sertain content do not agree to install it immidiatly! try first Google it!, find the official site, and then install it from there, this is the most commom mistake when downloading videos from file sharing networks.

Use safe web browser

Web browser is like a window to the world-wide-web called internet, windows with cracked glass, pur heck will not protect you from wind, rain, sun and mosquitoes and thief, and I'm not even talking about the view. That's right, all of it apply to a browser, so why would you use the browser that was forced on you, when you have so many choices:

Mozilla Firefox - Open source and the most extensible web browser
Google Chrome - Open source, the fastest and very extensible web browser
Opera - Supports most of the latest standards, while still being very fast

For high security web-sites like banks and services your browser will help you determine if the web-site is certified with the authorities, look for green rectangle of lock in the address or status bar, you can click on it to get more information about it.
